CSIRO

CSIRO shapes the future. They do this by using science to solve real issues. CSIRO's research makes a difference to industry, people and the planet.

As Australia’s national science agency CSIRO has been pushing the edge of what’s possible for more than 85 years. Today it has more than 5000 talented people working out of 55 centres in Australia and internationally. CSIRO's people work closely with industry and communities to leave a lasting legacy. Collectively, its innovation and excellence places us in the top ten applied research agencies in the world.

CSIRO is one of the most multidisciplinary research organisations in the world. The organisation plays a vital role in enhancing collaboration within the Australian national innovation system, and as a trusted advisor to government, industry and the community.

ASTA

The Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) is a federation of the Science Teachers Associations from all eight Australian States and Territories. These eight member associations comprise approximately 4,000 members across all school sectors.

ASTA is the peak professional association representing the science educators of Australia.  It works to achieve its mission of promoting our profession and enriching science education through representing and advocating for the science teaching profession; through the establishment of networks and partnerships; through the publication of a refereed quarterly journal Teaching Science; by conducting an annual national conference for science educators (CONASTA); and through the management of a wide range of other programs and projects with outcomes that benefit science teachers and their students.
