Claire Yung
Being a finalist in the BHP Billiton Science and Engineering Awards has been inspirational in encouraging me to seek a career in science, the whole atmosphere of young, aspiring scientists was incredible to be a part of.
ACT Heptathlete, Claire combined her passion for long jump with her passion for science for her research project. She investigated how sand behaves when someone lands in a long jump pit and how this affects measurement accuracy in determining the distance of the jump.
Claire is currently in Year 10 at Lyneham High School and hopes to pursue a career in science.
